Experts from diverse backgrounds will present bold, concrete ideas for using AI to support democratic values – from enhancing public administration and fostering inclusive policy-making to mediating conflicts and amplifying underrepresented voices. After a series of short impulse talks, we’ll dive into a discussion on how these visions could be implemented in practice – and where the challenges still lie. Under the patronage of Bavaria’s Minister for Digital Affairs, Dr. Fabian Mehring, the New Realities Competition 2025 – hosted by XR HUB Bavaria and 1E9 – celebrates innovative ideas that harness XR technologies to improve our world and create new experiences. This year's focus is on the fusion of Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
From a pool of submissions, the most promising projects have been selected to present their concepts at this grand finale. Finalists will showcase their ideas to a distinguished jury - and the winning project will receive a € 1.000 prize, recognizing excellence in leveraging XR and AI for societal benefit.
