Immersive communication in photorealistic Augmented Reality

In this talk we discover how to move from 2D video conferencing to 3D photorealistic immersive communication. We present our ongoing initiatives at TNO (Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research) to allow remote communication in AR for meetings, teaching and expertise at a distance. This includes our ongoing collaboration with Fraunhofer EMFT on a holographic teacher in the Mobile Learning Hub. TNOs applied research and innovation work allows to blend remote participants into your real world environment allowing to communicate naturally with a high social presence.
