Patrick Meller

Patrick Meller is a Research Scientist at Fraunhofer UMSICHT, specializing in digitalization and innovation management. With a background in mechanical engineering, he blends AI-driven development, digital fabrication and hands-on prototyping in makerspaces to create proof-of-concept prototypes that accelerate technological progress and serve as tangible demonstrations to foster sustainable transformation.

Since 2025, he has led the AI Innovation Team, responsible for integrating AI solutions across diverse departments in a fast-moving environment. Passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration, he currently sees the unprecedented democratization of technology as the key to creating optimal conditions for innovation—never before have circumstances been so favorable or access to advanced tools so widespread, making now the perfect moment to explore bold ideas or bring them to life.
