Michael Neumeier

Michael Neumeier is a scientist in the Neuromorphic Computing department at fortiss. He develops energy-efficient AI systems inspired by the human nervous system. He combines novel algorithms with special hardware to create edge AI prototypes. His work combines technological innovation with the goal of reducing the ecological footprint of AI. Most recently, he was particularly successful in the further development of a real-time action recognition demonstrator. Michael sees his role not only in research, but also in communicating complex technologies. He wants to make AI understandable and promote its social acceptance.
His vision: Sustainable AI in autonomous vehicles and robots that interact intuitively with people and thus enrich our everyday lives.
