Jan-Peter Müller

Jan-Peter Müller is the Global Head of Energy & Mobility in BayernLB's Corporates & Markets division. He is responsible for domestic and international corporate clients in the energy and mobility sector as well as for all asset finance, project finance & trade and commodity finance transactions of the bank. Within BayernLB he is also part of the pricing committee, the sustainability board and the credit risk board.

In addition to his role at BayernLB, Jan-Peter is a member of the supervisory Board of AKA Ausfuhrkredit-Gesellschaft mbH, a specialized bank for export finance and is advisor to the German Government (IMA) in the committee for guarantees on foreign direct investments.

The corporate and infrastructure specialist joined BayernLB from Commerz Real AG, where he was Head of Asset Structuring and Infrastructure Equity Investments. In this position he was part of the team that created the first Impact Retail Fund as an ELTIF called “KlimaVest” and several other institutional funds in the infrastructure space. During his time at Commerz Real, Jan-Peter was Chairman of the executive board of Commerz Real S.a.r.l., Commerz Real’s daughter company in Luxembourg and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Veja Mate Offshore Projekt GmbH in Hamburg, one of the largest offshore wind farms in Germany.

Born in Munich, he started his career as a strategy consultant in Berlin, from where he moved to Commerzbank's Competence Center of Energy in Hamburg after completing a master's degree at the London School of Economics. At Commerzbank, Jan-Peter held various management and specialist positions in the corporates division of the bank before joining Commerz Real in 2017 and ultimately BayernLB in 2022.
