Jan Goetz

Dr. Jan Goetz is the CEO and co-founder of IQM Quantum Computers. He did his doctorate on superconducting quantum circuits at TU Munich and worked as a Marie-Curie Fellow in Helsinki at Aalto University, where he holds the title of docent. In 2018, Goetz spun IQM out of Aalto University and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland alongside his co-founders, raising over $600M in capital since then.

Goetz is leading IQM's planned listing on a major U.S. exchange and a leading Nordic exchange — which would make IQM the first European quantum company to go public in the United States.

In 2024, WirtschaftsWoche selected him as one of 30 executives shaping Germany. In 2023, Handelsblatt named him Founder of the Year. In 2020, Capital magazine included him in its 40 Under 40.

Goetz serves on the board of the European Quantum Industry Consortium QuIC and as an EIC Ambassador. He is a member of the German Federal Economic Senate, an EIC Scaling Club Council member, and a Global Innovator at the World Economic Forum.
