#Infrastructure #Innovation #Students Haokun Zheng (21) is Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board at TUM Boring – an over 60 people large student initiative at the Technical University of Munich. In a record time of 9 months, the team designed and built a 22 ton tunnel boring machine and won Elon Musk's Not-a-Boring Competition in Las Vegas in September 2021. During the project, the team was supported by over 50 industry partners and gained international media attention. Besides his involvement at TUM Boring, Haokun is an Informatics bachelor's student at the Technical University of Munich. In der Rekordzeit von 9 Monaten hat das Team eine 22 Tonnen schwere Tunnelbohrmaschine konstruiert und gebaut und im September 2021 die Not-a-Boring-Competition von Elon Musk in Las Vegas gewonnen. Annette Hagengruber is a research engineer and the Team Lead of the DLR team re-enabling robotics, a team working on assistive technology for people with physical disabilities. With their prototype EDAN, she and her team recently won the Cybathlon 2024, an international competition of the ETH Zürich for assistive devices. Right now she is working with her colleagues on a technology transfer to spin off the EDAN technology into the startup Enabling Robotics. The goal of the company is to empower people with severe physical disabilities to lead more independent lives through an AI-based assistive robot. The team follow a human-in-the-loop approach to gradually and reliably enhance the robot's autonomous capabilities in collaboration with the user.
