Quantentechnologie sind eines der Top-Themen beim Festival der Zukunft 2025. Wer noch tiefer ins Thema einsteigen will, sollte allerdings schon eine Woche früher nach München kommen: Denn im internationalen Jahr der Quantenphysik 2025 wird die World of Quantum vom 24. bis 27. Juni in München bereits zum dritten Mal Treffpunkt der internationalen Quantencommunity. Auf der weltweit größten Fachmesse für Quantentechnologie präsentieren und diskutieren führende Akteure aus Industrie und Forschung die wichtigsten Trends, Innovationen und Visionen dieser wegweisenden Zukunftstechnologie. Parallel finden die Laser World of Photonics, der World of Photonics Congress sowie die automatica statt und sorgen für spannende Mehrwerte.
Quantentechnologien ermöglichen völlig neue Anwendungen und haben das Potenzial, Wirtschaft und Handel grundlegend zu verändern. Extrem leistungsfähige Quantencomputer können komplexe Berechnungen, etwa in der Logistik, Finanzanalyse oder Materialforschung, deutlich schneller durchführen als herkömmliche Rechner. Dadurch lassen sich beispielsweise Lieferketten optimieren oder Produktionsprozesse effizienter gestalten. Zudem verspricht Quantenkommunikation höchste Sicherheit bei der Datenübertragung – ein entscheidender Vorteil in Zeiten zunehmender Cyberangriffe. In den vergangenen Jahren sind bedeutende Durchbrüche in der Quantenforschung gelungen und das Ziel ist, die Grundlagenforschung möglichst schnell in die Anwendung zu überführen. 2025 wurde sogar zum internationalen Jahr der Quantenphysik und -technologie ausgerufen.
Vom 24. bis 27. Juni 2025 treffen sich führende Akteure aus Industrie und Forschung der weltweiten Quantencommunity wieder in München auf der World of Quantum. Die weltweit größte Fachmesse für Quantentechnologie findet dieses Jahr bereits zum dritten Mal statt und kann erneut deutliche Zuwächse bei den Ausstellern verzeichnen. 2023 kamen über 17.000 Fachbesucher und knapp 90 Aussteller, 2025 werden schon rund 150 Aussteller erwartet.
„Wir starten mit neuem Logo und Design in die World of Quantum 2025. Das bewährte Drei-Säulen-Konzept behalten wir bei – neben dem Ausstellungsbereich wird es also wieder ein umfangreiches Begleitprogramm sowie den so wichtigen Networking-Bereich geben“, sagt Projektleiterin Anke Odouli. „Außerdem freuen wir uns, dass wir wieder auf die Unterstützung starker Partner wie dem Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF), dem Munich Quantum Valley oder QUTAC zählen können.“
Umfassender Marktüberblick
Der Ausstellungsbereich deckt umfassend sowohl die Enabling Technologies der Quantentechnologie wie Lasersysteme, Subsysteme und Komponenten ab als auch die Anwendungsbereiche wie Quantencomputing, -kommunikation, -simulation und -kryptografie, Quantensensing-, -metrologie sowie Quantenbildgebung. Führende Unternehmen und Netzwerke der internationalen Quantencommunity zeigen dort ihre Innovationen, darunter AQT, das BMBF, ID Quantique, Q.ANT, planqc und TUM Venture Labs. Darüber hinaus werden mehrere Gemeinschaftsstände vertreten sein unter anderem von Bayern Innovativ, Berlin Partner, EPIC, Munich Quantum Valley und QBN.
Expertenwissen und Networking
Wissensaustausch von der Grundlagenforschung bis zur Praxisanwendung sowie Netzwerken stehen im Mittelpunkt des umfangreichen Begleitprogramms. Ein Forum informiert in sechs Application Panels über folgende Themenbereiche aus der Quantentechnologie: Quantencomputing und Quantensimulation, Imaging & Sensing, Enabling Technologies, Education & Career, Quantenkommunikation sowie Politics & Governance. Auf der Insights Stage präsentieren Aussteller den aktuellen Stand konkreter Quantenprojekte. Dort findet auch die Founders Fight Night statt, bei der Start-ups vor einer Expertenjury gegeneinander pitchen. Beim Qiskit-Hackathon, einem 24-stündigen Wettbewerb in Zusammenarbeit mit dem BMBF und IBM Quantum, können sich junge Talente beweisen. Darüber hinaus sind Guided Tours geplant, bei denen Besucher ausgewählte Bereiche der Quantentechnologie kennenlernen können.

Quantum technology is one of the top topics at Festival der Zukunft 2025. However, those who want to dive even deeper into the subject should plan to arrive in Munich a week earlier: In the International Year of Quantum Physics 2025, World of Quantum will be the meeting place for the international quantum community for the third time from June 24 to 27 in Munich. At the world's largest trade fair for quantum technology, leading players from industry and research will present and discuss the most important trends, innovations and visions of this pioneering future technology. Laser World of Photonics, the World of Photonics Congress and automatica will take place in parallel and provide exciting added value.
Quantum technologies enable completely new applications and have the potential to fundamentally change the economy and trade. Extremely powerful quantum computers can perform complex calculations, for example in logistics, financial analysis or materials research, much faster than conventional computers. This makes it possible to optimize supply chains or make production processes more efficient, for example. In addition, quantum communication promises maximum security in data transmission - a decisive advantage in times of increasing cyber attacks. Significant breakthroughs have been made in quantum research in recent years and the aim is to transfer basic research into applications as quickly as possible. 2025 has even been declared the International Year of Quantum Physics and Technology.
From June 24 to 27, 2025, leading players from industry and research from the global quantum community will once again meet in Munich at the World of Quantum. The world's largest trade fair for quantum technology is taking place for the third time this year and has once again recorded significant growth in the number of exhibitors. Over 17,000 trade visitors and almost 90 exhibitors attended in 2023, and around 150 exhibitors are expected in 2025. "We are launching World of Quantum 2025 with a new logo and design while retaining the tried-and-tested three-pillar concept. Comprehensive market overview
The exhibition area comprehensively covers both the enabling technologies of quantum technology such as laser systems, subsystems and components as well as application areas such as quantum computing, communication, simulation and cryptography, quantum sensing, quantum metrology and quantum imaging. Leading companies and networks of the international quantum community will showcase their innovations, including AQT, the BMBF, ID Quantique, planqc and TUM Venture Labs. In addition, several joint stands will be represented by Bayern Innovativ, Berlin Partner, EPIC, Munich Quantum Valley and QBN, among others.
Expert knowledge and networking
The focus of the extensive supporting program will be on sharing specialist knowledge, from basic research to practical application, and on networking. A forum will provide information in six application panels on the following quantum technology topics: quantum computing and quantum simulation, imaging and sensing, enabling technologies, education and career, quantum communication, and politics and governance. On the Insights Stage, exhibitors will present the current status of specific quantum projects. The Founders Fight Night, where startups pitch against each other in front of a panel of experts, will also be held there. Young talents can prove themselves at the Qiskit hackathon, a 24-hour competition in collaboration with the BMBF and IBM Quantum. Guided tours are also planned, offering visitors the opportunity to get to know selected areas of quantum technology.
